Hi everyone,
In case you would like to comment on my blog, the link is different thank the norm: http://dsmsmedia.blogspot.com/

I'd love to share what I saw on my colleagues' blogs.

1. Tammy Thornton. I really liked the link to the National Geographic Oceans Quiz. What a great website to point them to! I would recommend that you perhaps add a post where students could share recycling tips or post a poll about recycling for your students to respond to when you arrive at that unit (in the spring I think!)
2. Mark Thompson I enjoyed the colorful pictures-especially the one of the earth's layers that convinced me once and for all that I can't dig my way to China from my backyard :) My recommendation might be to add a link to something like the Charles River Watershed Events to encourage students to get involved in volunteer cleanups. Here's the link if you are interested! http://www.crwa.org/events.html

Casey,

Thanks for the tip on putting up a poll for recycling. I was definitely planning on integrating the blog when it comes to Earth Month.

Hello,

Andrea, I like all of your gadgets on the side bar of your blog. The links as well as the pictures highlighting healthy choices. It seems like the students are responding well to your blog requests.

Lori, I like your list of "what students can do when they are done with classwork." I also like your links to help students make slideshows and wordles.

@Andrea-I noticed that you had a poll listed on the left side. Nice touch! I also liked the food pyramid and helpful links that the students could go to.

Casey Selover-Thanks for taking a look! I get that China question alot. Scientists are close to digging a hole through the earths crust which is roughly like an eggshell compared to the other layers. We have a long way to go. I will take your suggestion about links as an action item for next class.

Hi Casey,

I love the format you used as well as the color scheme. It’s a nice change from the formats that most of us are using. I love how you included the video of the kids singing in the hallway. Did you use a flip video to record?

Hi Paul,

What a great idea using the blog for a way to communicate with the book group. This could be a good place to hold some interesting discussions. Not necessarily to replace the face-to-face, but in addition to.
